Current running outfit: follow the weather

The right outfit depends first on the temperature at the start. A simple rule: dress as if it were a few degrees warmer, because the body heats up quickly during exercise. Here, season by season, is what runners wear, with the corresponding Bodycross collections. These guidelines apply to both roads and trails.

Winter: layer up and protect the extremities

When it's freezing, layer a long-sleeved top, leggings, and a windbreaker. The hands, head, and neck lose heat quickly: gloves, beanies, and neck warmers make the difference. For runs in extreme cold, heated clothing adds an adjustable heat source.

Spring and autumn: the layer you can take off

In the mid-season, the morning is cool and the return is milder. Start with a t-shirt and a light jacket that you can take off and tie around your waist. For the bottom, shorts or capris depending on your sensitivity to the cold. Women's running windbreakers and men's fold up into a pocket.

Summer: as little fabric as possible

In extreme heat, choose a breathable mesh tank top and short shorts. A cap protects from the sun, and a flask becomes essential as soon as the run gets longer. Run preferably early in the morning or in the evening, when the air is cooler, and choose light colors that absorb less heat.

A trail look idea

On the trails, the outfit must handle elevation changes and weather changes. A trail look idea: a light t-shirt, shorts with built-in cycling shorts and several pockets, a hydration belt, and a windbreaker in the back. Find these pieces in the women's trail and men's trail collections. All are designed in France by runners.

Questions fréquentes sur la collection The Bodycross look of the week!

How to choose your running outfit based on the temperature?

Dress as if it were a few degrees warmer than the displayed temperature, because your body warms up within the first few minutes. When it's freezing, plan for long sleeves, leggings, gloves, and a beanie. When the air is simply cool, a t-shirt and a light jacket are enough. As soon as it gets hot, switch to a tank top and shorts, and bring water.

What trail running outfit idea for a mountain outing?

Opt for a lightweight, quick-drying t-shirt, shorts with built-in liners and multiple pockets, and a hydration belt. Add a compact windbreaker, as the weather changes quickly at altitude. A cap or neck gaiter completes the look depending on the season. The men's and women's trail collections feature these items.

What to wear for a run when it’s very cold?

Layer three garments: a close-fitting long-sleeved top, a mid-layer if needed, then a windbreaker. On the bottom, wear leggings. Cover your extremities with gloves, a hat, and a neck warmer. In very cold weather, a heated garment with adjustable levels provides real comfort on slow outings.

Do you need a windbreaker for running in the shoulder season?

It's the most useful piece in spring and autumn. A lightweight windbreaker cuts the cold morning wind and protects from a little rain, then can be removed when you get warm. Compact models fold into a pocket or tie around the waist, without hindering your run.
